Funcom Unveils New PC/360 MMO

Taking place in the modern day, Funcom today lifted the wraps on its latest MMO currently in development for the PC and Xbox 360. Casting players in a sinister world of conspiracies, inspired by history and mythology, The Secret World tells the tale of a world within ours, one where magic exists, monsters roam and ancient forces are vying for control over the earth.

"We started envisioning this contemporary online world more than ten years ago, and as the years passed the ideas grew and improved," said Ragnar Tørnquist, Producer and Director on 'The Secret World'. "We always wanted a different kind of online world, something scary and contemporary, something deeper and closer to our reality. Our goal now is to create a detailed world where players feel empowered and part of something big, something mystical and epic."

"We believe there are millions of gamers out there who want to explore something beyond traditional fantasy and sci-fi games," said Trond Arne Aas, CEO of Funcom. "'The Secret World' is just that - a fantastic new setting that will fuel the imagination of online gamers, and keep players busy for years. We have a golden opportunity to bring something fresh and exciting to the genre, and we firmly believe the game is an ideal extension of Funcom's MMO portfolio."

In development since last summer, The Secret World is in a relatively late stage of development and is currently in a playable state. Unfortunately, Funcom is refusing to confirm a release date, or hint towards when a beta will begin; although a series of web-based mysteries could provide further information - www.darkdaysarecoming.com/.

The Ultimate Console: PSWii60

In a perfect world; you would only have to buy one console to play the games you want to play. Would Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo make more money if they made one console? Maybe, maybe not.

Everyone has thought of it once; Only having to buy one console. The term PsWii60 is not new, and it has been used many times. Why make the releases of 3 great consoles into a war between companies? How about we play Victor Frankenstein and put together the greatest console to ever sit in our house.
